Making Plans and Following Through

Learn how to suggest activities, make plans, and be a reliable friend.

The Art of Suggesting Plans

Moving from acquaintance to friend requires someone to take the initiative. Here's a low-pressure approach:

1. Find a shared interest: "You mentioned you like hiking..." 2. Make a specific suggestion: "There's a great trail at [location]. Would you want to check it out this Saturday?" 3. Keep it casual: "No pressure if you're busy — we could always do it another time."

Specific plans are better than vague ones. "Want to hang out sometime?" is harder to act on than "Want to grab coffee after work on Thursday?"
